Hera was so pissed off with her husband Zeus’ philandering that she looked to take it out, not on him, he was the lord of everything, but on the poor victim of his rape or seduction. Zeus’ illegitimate offspring weren’t safe either and Hera looked to punish them in all manner of vicious ways. She was a lifelong enemy of poor Heracles, the son of Zeus and Alcmene. She tried to prevent Alcmene from giving birth by tying her legs together but her servant Galathis intervened, she punished him by turning him into a weasel. She assigned Heracles to king Eurystheus and tried to make his 12 labours more difficult. When Zeus got Leto knocked up with twins Apollo and Artemis she forbid Leto from giving birth on dry land. When Hera caught Zeus with his mistress Io Zeus was so freaked out that he turned Io into a giant white cow to hide her. Hera wasn’t fooled and gave the cow to Argus to keep it away from Zeus. Hera turned the queen of Libya Lamia into a monster who ate her own children, because Zeus loved her. She was one of the goddesses along with Aphrodite and Athena to attend the judgement of Paris.
